Madagascar is now open for travel.
All travellers to Madagascar are required to undergo a PCR test prior to departure, an antigen test on arrival and any relevant quarantine requirements, regardless of vaccination status.
-Submission of a negative result of an Rt-PCR test performed 72 hours prior to boarding
-A rapid antigenic test on arrival in Madagascar, at the traveller’s expense (15€ / 20$ / 65.000 MGA).
-In case of a positive result to the rapid antigen test on arrival, a self-isolation of 7 days minimum will be set up in a dedicated structure, at the traveller’s expense.
Tests: Negative PCR test results are required for all countries.

On 3 September 2021, the Malagasy government lifted the national health emergency that had been in effect since March 2021. It is still advisable to wear a face mask in all public places and to follow public health guidelines.
Additional measures have been in place since 15 December in the three regions with the highest rates of COVID-19 transmission: Analamanga (which includes the capital Antananarivo), Vakinakaratra and Haute Matsiatra. In these areas, face masks and a social distance of one metre are recommended in enclosed spaces and areas with large numbers of people. Outdoor public gatherings are prohibited and indoor gatherings may not exceed 100 people.
